About Axis
Our Mission
Axis is building the fundamental authorization layer for the autonomous economy. As AI agents increasingly take on complex tasks that require financial resources, the need for programmatic, sub-second authorization becomes critical. We exist to bridge the gap between AI autonomy and financial safety.
The Problem
Today, delegating spending power to an AI agent means either keeping a human in the loop (slow and unscalable) or handing over raw API keys to corporate cards (dangerous and unbound). There is no middle ground where an agent can operate freely within strict, programmatic boundaries.
Our Solution
We built Axis to be the deterministic control layer. By intercepting transaction intents before they hit the settlement ledger, our policy engine evaluates agent requests against your defined rules—per-transaction caps, monthly budgets, and merchant allowlists—in under 20 milliseconds.
Who We Are
We are a team of engineers, security researchers, and fintech veterans from OAU, Ile-Ife building for the 2026 Hackathon Cohort. We believe that the future of commerce is machine-to-machine, and we are building the infrastructure to make it secure, transparent, and developer-friendly.

Axis is built on top of Ähnlich, the blazing-fast in-memory vector database and similarity search engine. By running Ähnlich over high-throughput gRPC connections, Axis performs real-time semantic merchant allowlist matching and intelligent transaction categorization in sub-2ms latency.
Ähnlich's mathematical vector precision ensures that ambiguous agent intents are securely, deterministically mapped to authorized vendor domains without relying on slow or non-deterministic public LLM calls.
